A must for any visitor is tour around the historic Southwell Minster. Constructed over 900 years ago this beautiful building is said by many to be the best kept secret among the 42 English cathedrals.

 

The National Trust Workhouse was built in 1824 as a last resort for the poor and needy. Influenced by prison design, it is  the the most complete workhouse in existence and became a blueprint for workhouses throughout the country.
